Resources
When embarking on an independent educational journey, you'll need to know about people, tools, media, and various other types of helps that can assist and encourage. I consider myself a bit of a curator when it comes to things that I find interesting and helpful, and I'm excited to share my favorites with you. I could go down quite a rabbit hole here, so I'm going to offer my very favorite organizations and independent educators who can then connect you to thousands of other inspiring individuals, approaches, and organizations.

The ultimate resource for all things alternative education: AERO

My very favorite podcast: Honey, I'm Homeschooling The Kids! by, Robyn Robertson. Robyn is a master interviewer, and she has created what I consider to be the best podcast to start listening to if you're new or if you need some new ideas. Her website is chock-full of resources as well.

Golda David is a home education coordinator and facilitator for the Province of Alberta in Peace River. She is also working on a book that is shaping up to be a must-read for anyone in this field or considering independently educating.

From time to time I receive requests to share different types of resources. While I have not engaged deeply with these resources myself, they may be of help to some folks who are at particular places with students on their educational journey.

The BYU McKay School of Education recently reached out to me to let me know of an early literacy resource they make available free of charge. It is called SEEL, and you can take a look at this program here.
